Massage - Tui Na & Fire Cupping
Tui Na
Tui Na is a form of hands-on body treatment often used in conjunction with acupuncture, fire cupping, and Chinese herbalism. The Tui Na master may brush, knead, roll, press, and rub the areas between each of the joints to attempt to open the body's defensive Qi and get the energy moving in the meridians and muscles. The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, and massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points.
In our clinics, we have three Tui Na masters who know techniques that aid in the treatment of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many non-musculoskeletal conditions.
Fire Cupping
Fire cupping is a treatment where a match is lit and brought inside of a glass cup for a brief second. The match is quickly removed and the cup is then placed on the patient. As the heat dissipates, a firm vacuum suction is created. The cups can be moved around the patient's body along the meridians and at specific points to boost the immune system, improve musculoskeletal function, and enhance the outcome of acupuncture therapy. Common sites for cupping include the back, neck, and shoulders. |
