Hypertension - Prevention and Cure

Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, shows no obvious signs, and its symptoms can remit unexpectedly. Therefore, hypertension is often neglected. However, if left untreated, hypertension may result in stroke, heart failure, myocardial infarction, or other apoplectic diseases.

Some common symptoms of hypertension include:

  • Headache and dizziness
  • Visual problems
  • Insomnia
  • Weakness and fatigue
  • Nosebleed and numbness in the extremities

Cause and Treatment:

According to TCM theory, hypertension is mainly related to the liver, kidney, and heart meridians. Patients who suffer from hypertension are usually over fifty years old. However, younger individuals may also develop hypertension due to stress, tension, and alcohol, which overwork the liver, kidney, and heart meridians.

TCM treatment involving both acupuncture and herbs can nourish and placate the liver and kidney meridians, make the three vital energies - Jing, Qi, and Shen work normally, and rebalance the meridians.
